What are the IT lockers?

The IT locker system offers a convenient, secure, and accessible solution for VIU employees to drop off or pick up equipment. Because it's available 24/7, the locker system eliminates the need to coordinate schedules with IT staff. Whether you need to return equipment or collect it, the process is quick, straightforward, and ensures your items are safely stored until retrieved.

Who Can Use the Locker System?

The locker system is exclusively for VIU employees and is intended for IT or Logistics-related drop-offs and pick-ups. Whether you’re returning equipment or collecting it, this guide will walk you through the process.

Note: The locker system should only be used for drop-off and pick-ups at the discretion of IT staff.

Where are the lockers located?

The IT lockers are in the lobby of Building 305 near the Campus Store entrance

How do I return equipment using the locker system?

1. Let IT Know: Update your IT ticket to inform IT that you’ll be using the locker system for your return.

2. Prepare Your Items:

   • Print an updated copy of your IT ticket (or include a post-it note with the ticket number clearly written).

   • Include the printed ticket with the equipment you’re returning.

3. Use the Locker System:

   • Go to the locker system and press the “Start” button.

     

   • Select your preferred language.

     

   • Tap on “Return”.

     

   • Choose the locker size that best fits your items. Once you have selected a locker size the locker compartment will automatically open.

     

   • Place your items inside the compartment when it opens and close the door.

     

4. That’s It! IT will receive an automated notification once you’ve completed your return.

How to Pick-Up equipment from the BlueBits locker system

1. Get Your Pick-Up Code: IT will provide you with a unique pick-up code and any additional instructions when your equipment is ready.

2. Collect Your Items:

   • Visit the locker system and press the “Start” button.

     

   • Select your preferred language.

     

   • Tap on “Collect”.

     

   • Enter your Pick-Up Code.

     

   • The locker compartment will automatically open. Take your items and close the door.

3. Done! You’re all set. Enjoy your day with no additional steps required.
