In the event that you have forgotten your VIU Account password, please follow the instructions below:
Click I forget my Password
Type in the email address on file in your student account
Click Email my Online Student Record Password
You will receive two emails from VIU. One will contain a temporary password. Copy the password to the clipboard. Use that temporary password to log in to your student record.
You will be prompted to change your password. Use the temporary password provided as the current password.
You may also want to change your computer account password. Follow the steps below.
Your computer account is used for logging in to computers on campus, VIU-Secure Wi-Fi, and VIULearn (D2L). The password for this may be different than your student record. If you are not able to log in to your computer account, Wi-Fi, or VIULearn it is possible that your computer account password may have expired.

If you phone, please have your employee ID number ready. If you choose to send us an email, please include your employee ID number so we can assist you.
New employees will receive their username, email address, employee ID number, and default password from their manager. You will not be able to log in to any VIU systems until you change your password from the default.
If you run into any issues, please contact the IT Service Desk (contact information below). If you have not received your employee number, please contact your manager to obtain this before contacting IT.
