NVivo 20 is available for installation for students and employees on their personal devices. For installation on a VIU device, please contact the IT support team for assistance.
Installation Instructions for NVivo 20
NVivo is a powerful qualitative data analysis software that allows users to organize, analyze, and gain insights from their research data. The current version, NVivo 20 (R1), is available for installation on personal computers.
Step 1: Create LUMIVERO Profile

Log into LUMITERO with your pre-existing account, or create a new account.
Step 2: Download NVivo 13 (2020 R1)
- Find and click on NVivo on the left menu
- Find and click on Download
- Find and click on Older Versions
- Select and download the appropriate version of NVivo 13 (2020 R1)
Step 3: Install
- Find the downloaded installation file, probably in Downloads and open it
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
Step 4: Obtain License Key
- Follow this link to obtain the license key (a student or employee computer login is required; affiliate accounts will not work).
- Collect the license key.
Step 5: Activate NVivo
- Open the NVivo application from your start menu
- Click on or provide enterprise key to activate
- Enter the license key obtained in step 4
- Fill in the required files and click activate
