Canadian universities are seeing a sharp increase in tuition scams that trick students into sending money directly to fraudsters. In these schemes, scammers use stolen credit cards to artificially "pay" a student's university account, leaving the student owing full tuition once the fraudulent credit card charge is inevitably reversed.
