What are the responsibilities of VIU mobile phone users?
Due to the confidential and private nature of telecommunications, it is your responsibility to ensure the digital information on your mobile phone is secure.
You must maintain a lock screen password on your mobile phone to prevent unauthorized access to your device if it is lost or stolen.
You should monitor your data usage to avoid excessive data charges. To help manage data usage always use Wi-Fi when it is available (for example on Nanaimo campus).
You are responsible for backing up your phones and transferring your data when you upgrade phones as this is not a service VIU IT currently offers
