How do I set up self-service password reset?

A self-service password reset method allows users to skip calling IT if they are experiencing access issues due to their password using the "Forgot Password" option. 

If you already have the Microsoft Authenticator, alternate 2-step verification method set up, or a recovery email set up, you should be able to reset your password using any of those options as well.

Once your computer account has been set up, follow these steps to set yourself up with a self-service password reset option:

1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info 
2. Sign in with your VIU credentials and authenticate
3. Click + Add sign-in method
4. Select Email
   
5. Enter a personal email address and follow the prompts
