The following list of applications have been blocked by VIU's Network Administrators from being installed on any VIU provided computer, whether it is a desktop, laptop, or lab computer. Users attempting to install any applications included on the list below will be presented with one of the following notifications:
Note: These blocks apply to all VIU Desktops or Laptops running Windows or Mac OS. They do not apply to mobile devices (phones/tablets) or personal devices.
Users of VIU provided computers should be aware that if they wish to use any application, even free to download applications available on the internet, that the software needs to undergo a review process to assess compatibility with our systems and possible security and privacy concerns. This process is summarized here:
Software which has been reviewed and approved for use on VIU provided computers is generally made available via VIU's Company portal. Instructions on how to navigate and use the Company Portal can be found here:
