Voicemail Best Practices

Delete Voicemail Regularly

  • Regularly delete your voicemail messages.
  • If you can't access your voicemail, allow your area secretary to manage it during your extended absence.

Temporary Greetings (CallPilot)

Record a temporary greeting when you're away from campus, mentioning your absence and expected return date.

To set a temporary greeting:

  • Enter the voicemail system.
  • Press 82 for greetings.
  • Press 3 for Temporary Greeting.
  • Press 5 to Record, 2 to Review, 9 to set an expiry date/time, and 4 to exit.
  • Don't forget to log out by pressing 83.

Accessing Voicemail (CallPilot)

  • You can access your voicemail from anywhere with phone service.
  • Dial voicemail number 250-740-6345.
  • Enter your four-digit local or mailbox number followed by #.
  • Enter your voicemail password followed by #.
  • Access your voicemail as usual.
  • Log off the system by pressing 83 and then hang up.
