What is Outlook?
Outlook is the email and communication client included with our Microsoft 365 (M365) accounts. Outlook also includes functions for calendaring.
Microsoft Outlook is available to employees of VIU and is installed as part of the standard software package for VIU computers. These instructions cover basic setup and configuration of Outlook while on campus and can be used when using Outlook off-campus.
Versions of Outlook
There are multiple Outlook applications. It is important to know which version of Outlook you are using. You can visit this Microsoft Article to determine with version of Outlook you are using. Please be advised that the IT department recommends using the Outlook (Classic) desktop app for Windows users as the New Outlook still has some bugs and compatibility challenges that can cause productivity issues.
